Aldermans Green (Birch)
| Address: | Aldermans Green | ||
| Became: | Weavers Arms | ||
| Alternative Addresses: | Courthouse Green, 237 Bell Green Road | ||
In 1861 Mrs Mary Birch, a widower, was a victualler at the Weavers Arms in Courthouse Green. It does not appear in directories as a public house until 1879.
The name of this beerhouse must have come from the occupation of John Birch. It has been listed under a number of different addresses over the years. It appears as a public house in an 1879 directory, and then not again until 1929. Fom then onwards it is always a public house, so I think this must make it one of the last beerhouses to survive in Coventry.
In 2006 it added an Indian Restaurant.
