When George Laxton took to the "Old-Established Wine & Spirit Stores" in June 1888, he advertised it as THE OLD DUN COW RIB ... Until recently carried on by Mr. B. Oldfield.
This name persisted until closure in 1935 when much of the area was demolished the the Trinity Street development.
