This pub opened on 8th November 1957 under licensee, James B. O'Hare. The license was the suspended one from the Castle Vaults.
In later years the upstairs bar was called Times Square and had a separate entrance. In January 1995 it closed and was soon demolished, replaced by a burger bar.
